It’s going to be cold over there! As usual in these conditions I like to wear many garments together, in layering look. Playing with several materials works best, this time with this patterned ‘jacket’.
Well, this is the same stuff from Maje I wore last year — as a scarf! Since then, it’s another DIY I didn’t show here, let me explain…
I think finding conceptual ideas is my favorite thing in DIY fashion. Geometry belongs to it, with shapes and patterns. This is one concrete example that shows how simple it can be! For those you might remember of it, I went to Paris for a video project in November 2014. Have to admit that I went to forget it slowly…
So you’ll find here the step by step tutorial (let’s say it’s ONLY to get into the technic, don’t look too much in details, okay?.)
Two holes in the fabric, that’s it. For this reason it’s also versatile and interesting to combine with: wrapped with a belt, or opened like today.
I could have chosen any other item to realize this project, for sure. It was a bit risky indeed, this Maje accessory is basically my favorite piece. However its size and material made it simply ideal to realize the DIY. Still don’t regret it, so here we go!
How do you like to travel for small trips? I prefer to keep it simple, reduced to the max. Super light suitcase in cabin size… What’s better than Samsonite, honestly? Flat shoes and of course, many knits and some warm accessories.
Now the wool coat is missing… Let’s hope I won’t have to get winter boots, I could seriously lack space to bring them back!
About the outfit:
DIY jacket made from a Maje scarf (Winter 2013 collection)
Pullover, jeans and jacket, from Z*** – respectively 2007, 2008 and 2009. I indeed decided to stop buying stuffs from there, which doesn’t mean that I have to get rid of it now. Just make it last! The quality in that time was actually much better than now so… As alternatives? Maybe this pullover by Samsoe & Samsoe or this Nudie jeans pants.
Leather sneakers by IRO
Hand knitted beanie (2007), bag from Versa Versa (also seen here), vintage brooch.
Suitcase by Samsonite.
Edit// Now arrived in Berlin! This time I’ll attend the Green Showroom, one event for ethical and sustainable fashion. More than the Fashion Week, I truly feel excited to meet these people with innovative and fresh ideas.
See you, enjoy your day! xx
